I am very delighted to be here today to support the cities’ initiative for a joint estabishment of the silk road tourism alliance 2020. As we might know, the tourism industry and creative economy is inseperable from the historical journey of Indonesia and Jakarta particularly as the capital city.
Jakarta is the principal gateway to the Indonesia with the sophisticated land, air, and sea transportation. Uniquely, Jakarta is a city contrast which brings together the traditional and modernity, more frequently they stand side by side in this bustling metropolis. Alone, the population gathered from those diverse ethnic as the main part of Indonesia, and this reflection associated with the national motto “BhinnekaTunggal Ika” or “Unity in Diversity”.
At this ocassion, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Xi’an Municipal People’s Government who has initiated the establishment of the Silk Road Tourism Cities Alliance. On behalf of Jakarta, I would like to announce that Jakarta will be one of the active members of this alliance. With the similar vision and mission to promote the cooperation and communication among cities along the Silk Road and to seek for new opportunities and business development, I am very optimism that this alliance able to encourage each cities supporting for the development of the tourism industry.
In closing, I sincerely hope through the Silk Road Tourism Cities Alliance, all participants can take a good use of the event and explore at maximum each potencies for the future cooperation. And wishing you all the best and a success for the event.
